It started just as any ordinary day and nobody paid any attention to the weather that Wednesday. I had my lunch at the kitchen table about one o'clock and looked out of the window, I had this odd sense that something wasn't quite right.

The wind had become so strong the barn roof across the yard started to peel back like the skin of a large orange, then suddenly the metal sheeting was gone, blown clean off and whisked away high up into the distance. I was so shocked I had never seen anything like this before in all my years of living in the country.
Thats was just for starters after the gusting wind came the rain, well when I say rain it was more like an impenetrable curtain of water. At one point I literally couldn't even see what was left of the old barn even though I knew it was a total wreck now. And the rain just kept coming, it rained for what seemed like forever but by the following day it had started to ease off. IT was to late buy then the water had come into the farm house and flooded the pasture and the brook had bust its banks too.
